En Français dans le texte Vous êtes ce que vous faites pas ce que vous dites que vous allez faire…En cette journée spéciale qui célèbre notre planète terre, je tenais à répondre a quelques accusations qui me touchent personnellement. Je fais passer dans ma musique beaucoup de messages écolo comme Wash My World et dernièrement le Not The End Of The World avec le superbe discours de Severn Cullis-Suzuki.  Il est aussi vrai que je fais de la course automobile et ai possédé des voitures qui sont assez polluantes. Le problème est que ma passion n’est pas forcément en accord avec ma philosophie de vie.

/Today is a special for our beloved Earth. I wanted to take the time to answer some accusations that affected me deeply. I use my music to comunicate important environmentally conscious messages like  Wash My World and lately Not The End Of The World with the fantastic speech from Severn Cullis-Suzuki. Truth be told I am a big fan of race car driving and this passion of mine is not really perfectly compatible with my life philosophy./

Après beaucoup de recherche j’arrive petit a petit a allier les deux. Le premier pas a été la course électrique du Trophée Andros l’année dernière. Je compte persister dans cette voie, en espérant bien pouvoir continuer à courir sur des voitures électriques voire a hydrogène. J’attends avec impatience la smart électrique pour remplacer ma smart, quant à la moto, il n’y a pas encore (hélas) d’alternative électrique mais une Harley pollue bien moins qu’une Citronault pipo !

/After lots of research I am able to, step by step, bring them together. The frist step was the electric car race I did last year:The Andros Trophy. I wish to continue pursuing new ways to race car in a more sustainable fashion. I am also waiting for the up and coming electric cars for my every day use like the Smart electric. As for my motorcycle, a Harley still pollutes a lot less than a small car!/

Quant à la vie de tous les jours je recycle et je composte et je vous invite à faire de même c’est facile et ça prend très peu de temps.

/In my everyday life I recycle and compost every day, I invite you to do the same it is easy and so fast, it makes such a difference!/

C’est sur je ne vie en accord parfait avec notre planète (même l’ordi que j’utilise en ce moment pour écrire ce blog est composé de produits pétrochimique). Cependant chaque jour je recherche de nouvelles technologies et de nouvelles façons qui me permettraient de minimiser mon impact sur l’environnement.

/Sure I don’t live a perfect lifestyle and do have an impact on the planet (even the computer I am using right now is made of petroleum based products) but everyday I am researching new technologies and new ways to help me minimise this impact./

It is not the end of the world !

So a few months ago I found this powerful speech from Severn Suzuki on Youtube dating back from 1992. Severn was only 12 and yet her speech deeply touched me. I consider this speech to be amongst the most powerful speech ever made, an environmental revolution comparable to the “I had a dream” from Dr. Martin Luther King jr. Mr Elle and I had composed this music track for the new album, but could not figure out how we would bring it to maturity. In one afternoon I started working with my team, we got in touch with Severn Suzuki with the help of Celine Cousteau the grand daughter of Jacques. And things just fell into places. Synchronicity one could say!

Severn was amazing. Although in the middle of having a baby she managed to send a quick note to us saying she was honored to have me mix a track for the speech. I thought I was supposed to be the one honored to score such a beautiful speech.

I transformed her speech a tad by cutting into it and mixing it with the music.What she said back in 1992 is even more relevant today as time is of the essence on our troubled planet. The “It’s not the end of the world” is a call to all of us to believe in our future and the power we have to change things for the  better. I am not an environmental leader, just a music producer and artist but I believe in a better future. Part of the proceeds for this track will be donated to the David Suzuki  Foundation (Severn’s Father). He is a fabulous environmental leader and very inspiring one (some of you might have seen him in the 11th hour directed by Leonardo di Caprio).

I made it back to France and I am now in the French Alps.2c compared to the 28C of Miami is a radical change,but I adapt fast. So what is here for me, well one thing is Mr Elle and I are putting the final touches to the album recording some new tracks, but also I am preparing for the first ever electric edition of the famed Andros Trophy.  I am excited about the concept and also finally being able to combine my passion for car racing and the environment.
