So a few months ago I found this powerful speech from Severn Suzuki on Youtube dating back from 1992. Severn was only 12 and yet her speech deeply touched me. I consider this speech to be amongst the most powerful speech ever made, an environmental revolution comparable to the “I had a dream” from Dr. Martin Luther King jr. Mr Elle and I had composed this music track for the new album, but could not figure out how we would bring it to maturity. In one afternoon I started working with my team, we got in touch with Severn Suzuki with the help of Celine Cousteau the grand daughter of Jacques. And things just fell into places. Synchronicity one could say!
Severn was amazing. Although in the middle of having a baby she managed to send a quick note to us saying she was honored to have me mix a track for the speech. I thought I was supposed to be the one honored to score such a beautiful speech.
I transformed her speech a tad by cutting into it and mixing it with the music. What she said back in 1992 is even more relevant today as time is of the essence on our troubled planet. The “It’s not the end of the world” is a call to all of us to believe in our future and the power we have to change things for the better. I am not an environmental leader, just a music producer and artist but I believe in a better future. Part of the proceeds for this track will be donated to the David Suzuki Foundation (Severn’s Father). He is a fabulous environmental leader and very inspiring one (some of you might have seen him in the 11th hour directed by Leonardo di Caprio).
This is just a teaser for now but soon you shall see the entire video:
Have a great week end boys and girls, and take action today (from recycling to signing petitions and getting involved) to make our planet a better place!
Peace,
Laurent

Hello Mister DJ,
Yes, it is a good and great speech, not only talking about ecology but of the interweaving of social status, overpopulation and earth protection.
What we can conclude watching this video is that nothing has really changed here below during those almost 20 last years. That’s revolting. Everybody listened to this speach, nobody really acted. I’m talking about decision-makers, people who’s got the power to make things change. It seems that the financial lobbies are really more powerfull than governments…
What can we do, we average humans ? Do the best as we can, I guess, and look at the stars, dreaming that one day, humanity will be wise enough to take a better path.
Waiting for your new album, patiently.
Have a great week end
Hello Mister DJ,
I’ve just read Lolo’s comment and I just want to write that I’m really amazed and frightened by such a lack of open-mindedness.
I don’t love all Laurent’s music (I’ve got a real preference for ‘Hollyworld’, maybe because it’s music I understand) but it is unfair to judge someone just hearing an album among others, and reading a blog on Internet. It’s pathetic. If you don’t like Laurent Wolf so why do you listen his music, why do you watch his videos and read his blog ? Dodge them and take it easy ! It takes all sorts to make a world.
I’m a woman and I could be sick when I’ve seen the ‘Wash my world’ video. This firm of half-naked women, managed by a man, doesn’t match with my idea of womanhood. But the first time I watched it, I just laughed.
What’s your problem, Lolo ? Are you jealous not to be Lolo Wolf ? You’d better live your life and try to make it better.
I don’t always agree with Laurent Wolf and his reasoning. His a little bit too idealist for me, sometimes (lol). Does he believe what he says ? Does he use ecology to earn money ? Both maybe. And who cares ? Not the millions of people who dance on his music to forget their superficial life, for sure. And not me. The only thing I care is : when this god-damn new album will be !
Dear Mister DJ, I’m probably not your best fan but, if there are some little moments of happiness on your new album like ‘Seventies’, ‘I pray’, the zen version of ‘No stress’, or, the one I love above all, ‘Quiet time’, I’ll always be.
Have a great day
Hey,
Bon moi je suis un très grand fan de Laurent et j’aimerais juste savoir quand va sortir justement ce nouveau titre 2012 : not the end of the world.
Merci beaucoup !
Continues comme ça ! On t’adore
I really like the fresh perspective you did on the issue. Really was not expecting that when I started off studying. Your concepts were easy to understand that I wondered why I never looked at it before. Glad to know that there’s an individual out there that definitely understands what he’s discussing. Great job!
loved the music and the idea behind the video. so great. cant wait for the album.
Very good idea Laurent, loved the music and the speech!
Bonjour Mr Wolf
