Each album is a new adventure. I always pick a theme and create each track to echo the theme in a different way. For example on Wash My World, I thought that the problem we have with destroying the planet is directly linked with the stress we generate on a daily basis. In other words, if we could figure out a way to let go of the ambient stress we could take the time to think more about our planet and solve problems in regard to the environment. Explosion, I Pray were also following the same message the same story line. Of course some tracks are more for fun, I voluntarily add them to the album to make people move, to make people happy.
On Albums, I work in stages. I write several melodies and tracks with Mr. Elle. Once we have every track we listen to them over and over and over again to figure out what would the melody of the lyrics be, then we imagine different types of voices on the track. This is by far the most challenging part. Once we have the voice in mind we start hunting. I like special voices with different tonalities. For example part of the reason behind the success of No Stress is that the message is strong, the melody is engaging and Eric Carter’s voice is just perfect for this track. In the same way, I can’t imagine another voice on 70’s other than Mod Martin…perhaps Bono from U2? 
Now back to the new album, I probably have heard 100’s of voices since we started the new album, we even recorded tracks thinking they would be final, and for some reasons it ended up not working. Some could think the creative process is frustrating, I see it as a challenge to be even more creative. I read not too long ago that the famous hollywood film maker Tim Burton (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,Batman Return,Sweeney Todd etc) ends up working each year on one movie that will never see the light of the projector. Some call them failed project. I see it as the perfect occasion to foster new ideas for projects, in my case songs or albums that eventually will make it on a CD.
So I know some of you are impatient to see the new album, and the release date has moved around some, but know that my team and I are doing our absolute best to produce the best sound out there.

Talking about your new album, fiding an idea wich leaves a deep impression just like earth protection will be a great challenge for you. But will it be your music or your ideas wich will make your album succesfull (or not) ? And is it really the role of an artist to flaunt one’s personnal ideas ? I dream sometimes that “”Stars”" could ask this simple question to them : what do my fans expect from me ?
